This two-session, beginner-friendly workshop focuses on transforming clay into unique, expressive three-dimensional art. Move beyond functional pottery and discover the joy of sculpting!

Session 1(Foundation and Form)

• Pinch Pot as Foundation: Learn how to use the pinch pot technique, not just for bowls, but for quickly building hollow, foundational forms (e.g., heads, bodies, or abstract shapes).

• Structural Building: Master essential hand-building techniques (coil and slab) to combine and manipulate these pinched forms into a sturdy, complex sculpture.

• Modeling and Hollowing: Focus on modeling details, adding texture, and learning critical hollowing methods to ensure your sculpture can be safely fired.

• Surface Enhancement: Learn how to apply stains to add depth and detail to the texture and contours of your sculpture.

Session 2(Surface, Detail, and Finish)

• Glazing Techniques: Explore specialized glazing methods designed to enhance, rather than obscure, your sculptural form.
